- WEB PAGE DESIGN FOR DESIGNERS Another excellent resource with examples, tutorials and solid advice. Delivers extensive design advice in the area of graphics and layout. Includes a complete topical index with a wide range of subjects.
- YALE STYLE MANUAL Comprehensive subject matter and very well organized, the authors take you through every step in web design. The site also offers a book on web design through its university press.
- WEB DESIGN TIPS Clear and to the point... nice design without a lot of "filler". If you are looking for some quick design advice, start here.
- WEB PAGES THAT SUCK Learn from the mistakes of others (or else). This site boldly capitalizes on the design flaws of other web sites (and seems to have incorporated them into their own design from time to time...). You can gain a lot of knowledge by seeing where others have gone astray.
- MINING COMPANY-WEB DESIGN If you've never visited one of the mining company sites, they are excellent resource listings. You'll find a variety of articles, listings, discussion areas and much more in a neat and clearly organized format. This should definitely be one stop on your research travels!
- BIG NOSE BIRD The name may be a bit strange but you'll find an abundance of design resources and tutorials here. Everything from rollover scripts to fonts and webmaster utilities. Give the bird a look!
- REALLYBIG.COM Another "really big" site that has more than just design resources. You can find helpful information on HTML, graphics, scripts, and much more. Well worth a visit!

- ICON BAZAAR Another huge collection of icons and clip art for public use (commercial use requires a license).
- CLIP ART CONNECTION Large collection of general and seasonal clip art. A rather cluttered interface means you'll need some patience if you want to browse the entire site.
- MINING COMPANY GUIDE TO CLIPART Yet another of the highly resourceful Mining Company sites. You'll find articles, links, and other resources for clipart here as well as an active bulletin board system. A very good place to begin looking for the images you need.
- MOYRA'S WEB JEWELS Without a doubt, the best source for graphic sets on the web. Moyra is well known for the quality graphics she makes available to the public. Make sure you stop here.
- ANIMATION CITY Over 200 free animations. The downside is a rather poor use of frames to display the collection.
- ANIMATION FACTORY Over 12,000 3D animation's, 35,000 for members! All animation's are of high quality. Includes a nice tutorial on making your own animation's as well as clip art and animation CD's you can purchase online.
- WEBMASTERS COLOR LAB No free graphics here but if you are making your own images or just trying to color coordinate your site, don't pass this up! An online reference to dither-proof colors for web pages. Select a color and it gives you both the HEX and RGB equivalent. Very handy!

- THE MIDI FARM Over 12,000 MIDI files from just about every musical taste. Also includes a MIDI search engine if you can't find what you are looking for. An outstanding sound resource.

- LOONEY TUNES SOUND SOURCE If a looney tunes character said it (or made the sound) you'll find it here. These make excellent system sounds for your computer.

- THE MOVIE SOUNDS PAGE Very large collection of movie sound bites. Nicely organized and updated regularly, the site author also takes sound submissions.
|
- SOUND AMERICA Over 23,500 Sounds to choose from. The downside is that they are encoded using a new MPEG Layer-3 Codec to reduce file size. You can get the player free but the files won't run on your default media player.

- STREAMING MEDIA WORLD Not just audio here folks... Streaming Media World features comprehensive news, tools, tutorials, resource links, and discussion forums for Webmasters who are developing and managing Internet streaming multimedia content.

- JAVA SHAREWARE.COM Extensive resource for Java applets, scripts, tools and more. Includes a question and answer forum for developers. A good place to start!

- JAVA BOUTIQUE Yet another superb Java resource site. They have one of the largest archives of applets and scripts. A Java help and how-to section are particularly useful. Reviews, FAQ's and a user forum provide additional information to those interested in Java.

- MATTs SCRIPT ARCHIVE Clearly categorized collection of scripts and CGI resources. Includes help files, demos, and FAQ's to get you started.

- CREATING NET SITES Comprehensive Netscape tutorial site. Weighted towards the Communicator page developer (Composer) element of its latest browser, the site still offers sound advice and resources. A very good place to start.

- WEBREFERENCE.COM Everything for the beginner to the advanced web designer. Includes timely reviews and articles on the latest trends in web site design and technology.

- CWIS HOW TO GUIDES W. Australian Univ. Site "how-to" guides for developing web pages. Some good information here, but limited.

- ANDYs ART ATTACK Outstanding site! Top quality resources and tips on graphic design and implementation. Lots of free graphics but an even larger library exists for those willing to pay a registration fee.

- GAZOO'S HTM-HELL Excellent reference for beginners. The site includes design tips, easily understood HTML advice, tools, and reference links to just about everything you'll need to get your site up and running. Take a look!

- FLOOR 13 A low-res, fast loading site featuring a great collection of top quality true type and MAC compatible fonts. Never a disappointment, this is one of my favorite font sites. Check it out!

- THE FONT POOL Over 1000 TT fonts. This site features type sets from popular television shows and movies. You are sure to find fonts here that you'll find nowhere else. Another very good resource worth looking over!

- GUEST WORLD Probably the most widely recognized guest book service on the web. Features customizable fields, backgrounds, and other tags. I'm using it and it's been great!

- AADDZZ FREE WEB COUNTERS Many interesting fonts to choose from! Features access counters, trackers, and traffic reports free of charge.
|
- HOTMAIL Free E-mail service. No frills access to your E-mail from any Internet accessible computer. Accepts attachments and allows for a "sig" file and some customization. Makes a good secondary address for those who already have an established E-mail name.

- CGI FOR ME Many CGI scripts you may access free of charge including counters, guest books, games, banners, password protection and more. Makes it easy to include popular scripting features on your site when you don't have CGI access to your server.

- SITEOWNER.COM Site submissions and tune up tools, easy to use and free. Comparable in many respects to the Web Site Garage, this is a very good place to get a quick analysis of your site design and efficiency for free.

- DR HTML A free and paid version of this effective web analysis tool is available. The free version will analyse a single page at a time for spelling, form structure, table structure, HTML syntax and much more. Nice report format.

- NET MECHANIC Just about as close as you can get to all the paid services provided by the Website Garage (even the name is close...). Free HTML, link, graphics, server speed checks, 24 hour site monitoring and much more. Definitely worth checking out!

- 1,001 Killer Internet Marketing Tactics - Written by Mark Joyner. Still the only interactive internet marketing course around. Widely regarded by many in the world as the most effective Internet marketing course on the market.

- SPIDER FOOD A wealth of information on search engines and spiders (not the crawling kind...). Clear, concise, and to the point... this site is an excellent first stop for an overview of how to build search engine friendly features into your site. If you've heard of a "trick" developers use, it is probably addressed here. Take a look!

- WEBPROMOTE.COM An Internet marketing company. If you are inclined to pay for promotional services, check this site out. Includes a free weekly newsletter, tools, and some useful information.

- Infacta - Group messaging solutions - This is one of the best programs for doing mass emailing that we have found. They have a free version that lets you get your feet wet then move up to the Pro version that allows for much more integration and messaging. Keep in mind that we do not condone spam or unsolicited email. Set up some sort of email opt-in list on your site, use the free service provided by “listbot” as a good start.

- SEARCH ENGINE FORUM An outstanding resource for understanding just what make sthe search engines tick. You'll find some eye-opening advice and tips for getting your site ranked higher. A must stop on your promotional quest.

- WEBRING HOME SITE An alternative to banners, this is where the ring begins. With more than 40,000 rings to choose from, this is one of the most popular sites of its kind.

- LINK TRADER Another banner service... also includes targeted E-mail listings and paid banner exposures (you pay to have your site listed instead of maintaining a reciprocal banner on your own site).
